first wish ♛ video;
Turtles? I'm not entirely sold on what was described when I got here by the people at the Dreaming Bridge, although there are turtle gods back in Japan. Gen-bu, Oto-hime, Mino-game... so it's not unheard of.
But what I can't figure out is, where are all the shrines around here? You've got tons of different peoples all living in the same place, but no one thought to set up proper shrines??
[ And then he flashes the camera a grin, because he's got just the solution! ]
What you all need is a new god to take care of those prayers of yours that have probably been going unanswered!
So here I am: the Yato God at your service! 24/7 wish-granting, fast, reliable and affordable!

...okay, so you're not the oldest on the turtle. Good to know.
[It's important data, okay? She looks mildly confused by his explanation, and then maybe a little sad that he's never had a shrine of his own.]
Well, I guess that's good to know. Er, what are phantoms? I'm assuming not good. Are there a lot of them? How do you get rid of them? What's a pure spring?
[All the questions. All of them.]

Phantoms are bad spirits, I guess would be the easiest way to describe them. They leech out negative energy, they corrupt people. Most of them come up from Yomi through Vents - uh, holes from the underworld - and the only way to get rid of them is to kill them.
A pure spring isn't anything fancy, it's just a spring with pure water. That, or water found on the grounds of a shrine, are the only things that can harm a phantom without a Regalia.

[She's not sure exactly what the water supply systems look like in Aifaran, although now she's curious enough to find out. The terraforming done on these turtles was impressive, given the way they could support so much life.]
I'm guessing by Regalia you're not talking about fancy clothes for nobles, unless fashion is a weapon where you come from. [That'd be kinda cool, actually.]

[ Yato laughs a little at her question about the Regalia. ]
Funny you'd say that, because Regalia actually can be clothes - they can be anything. One of the psycho chick's Regalia is a set of clothes that leave her basically half naked but still manage to protect her, and she's used a full set of armor Regalia up until around 30 years ago.
To put it simply: a Regalia is a gods' weapon. They pure spirits, sort of the opposite of phantoms, because they were human.

[She brightens.]
That sounds kind of awesome. I mean, I don't know if I'd wanna spend my afterlife as a piece of clothing, but getting to keep fighting to protect people would make it totally worth it.
[It must say something that her ideal afterlife is basically exactly what she's already doing, and that she'd rather dive back into battles for justice than idle in peace.]
Psycho chick, though? What'd she do?
no subject
Yeah? You like protecting people, huh?

It's my job, [she answers, nodding and smiling.] My best friends and I - we fight the worst of the worst, basically. Tony builds power armor and we use it to do what normal law enforcement can't.

[ Yato looks both suitably impressed, and incredibly nerdy at the moment. Look, he's from Japan, this is kind of a big thing if it's true. ]

That is exactly what I am, yeah. I go by Rescue in the armor; I've got it here if you wanna see it sometime, it's fun to just take it out for flights over the city.

[ Like you'd even have to ask, Pepper! ]
