Turtles? I'm not entirely sold on what was described when I got here by the people at the Dreaming Bridge, although there are turtle gods back in Japan. Gen-bu, Oto-hime, Mino-game... so it's not unheard of.

But what I can't figure out is, where are all the shrines around here? You've got tons of different peoples all living in the same place, but no one thought to set up proper shrines??

[ And then he flashes the camera a grin, because he's got just the solution! ]

What you all need is a new god to take care of those prayers of yours that have probably been going unanswered!

So here I am: the Yato God at your service! 24/7 wish-granting, fast, reliable and affordable!

Maybe not. [He shrugs easily, since maybe that's true, and it doesn't even matter if the Japan he knows is the same as Yato's because even gods would be limited in what they could do, wouldn't they? Someone could die between making a prayer that was heard and the deity answering. When he looks up again, the grin on his face is honestly amused.] And it doesn't matter - I wouldn't have made any prayer at four. Not to anyone. Not how the world worked, of course, and I didn't want to be a burden to my family.

[Pursing his lips, he shakes his head.]

And any kami were probably busy anyway, around that time. Lots of people needing help.

[Which well, was just all the more reason that he shouldn't have asked anyone for help, or called for his father to stop walking away. He did get help, after all.]

[ There's a beat, two, then Yato gives an exaggerated shrug and a grin of his own. ]

[ The brief pause because he actually forgot the name of the city for a moment. ]

So anyone who wants to be at the front of the queue had better start praying early!

[Noticing that pause, he just smirks a little and shakes his head, but doesn't point it out. Wonders how general a war god is supposed to be in terms of prayers answered, but he hadn't put any stipulations on the original advertisment... So what even made him what he claimed to be?

Rokuta didn't feel like asking, however. He knew it was true, even if there was no current action or intent behind the faint smell of old, old blood.]

Unless you could get me home, I think I'll leave the praying to other people. [A little snort, smiling and not accusing.] I'm sure you can get some, right? And...

[A pause as he frowns, a little thoughtfully, and fished out what he's rather sure will comparatively be the right coin, or at least as close as you can get, and tosses it to Yato.]

[The grin is probably more than a little teasing, and maybe that's twisting around how he phrased things originally, but who cares?]

[ Yato catches the coin with fast reflexes, but it takes his mind a half-step longer to catch up. When it does however, he gives a big, beaming smile. ]

[His grin softens a little at Yato's bright smile and he nods - and then, despite what he said earlier, reconsiders it and bows shallowly again. Sometimes over five hundred years of manners and etiquette trumps his personality, all right.]
