[appearing visibly startled, the Fool pauses in whatever else it is he's doing--possibly finishing up a carving--and turns his attention properly to Ilda and his yimo.] Why does he not stay at the Dreaming Bridge?

Oh, he's staying at the Dreaming Bridge! [ But you probably won't remember him after a while? Far Shore beings just kinda are like that. Ilda seems to remember him better than most because she's frequently in contact. ] But he's homeless in the... religious sort of way? If he doesn't earn enough money, he won't be able to build a shrine, and if you're a god and you don't have a shrine that's like not having a house? Maybe he might even gone forever because if he doesn't have a shrine people won't know who he is.

[ The thought of it makes her sad. She doesn't like gods all that much, but Yato's a cool friend. ]
