[Are yimos waterproof? Hopefully. It would suck if Bastien already broke his. Then again, this pesky pirate always been a tad reckless. It's simply how he is. The accused pirate is back in town and today he looks like a drowned rat or rather...a drowned fish considering the blue scales and fins.]

[He grins goofily into the camera looking all bright eyed and bushy-tailed. It seems the pirate is in a good mood despite the slight bruising around his nose. Someone socked him good, very good.]

Didya miss me? Of course ya did! I'm Captain Bastien Courbis, after all.

[The haughty laugh that follows is indeed quite haughty. Bastien is being a pompous arse but he's having fun. Let him have fun, folks.]

Now where's my gang of merry troublemakers? Where's my pretty fern, Trahearne?

[He peers into the screen curiously as if waiting for a reply. This usually soulful brown eyes look amber in the sunlight like a cat's eye. Bastien is hanging out by the pier it seems.]

Also, who made off with me squid?! Little Oswald is nowhere to be found, you thieven landlubbers!

[It's a baseless term of endearment on his part. Bastien knows Valdis would sooner flay him than kiss him.]

...Ahaha. [That silly pirate looks thoroughly embarrassed now. He figured she would bring that up but he hoped she wouldn't. Bastien isn't exactly proud of himself for that.]

Right. [He takes a moment to clear his throat with a proper "ahem".] Let's not dwell on that grievous mistake.

[Valdis smiled. She'd never let him forget it and he'd never live it down, though at least he had the grace to look genuinely embarrassed. Yet, Valdis felt it had more to do with being shown up than actually regretting the action. He was a pirate.]

Brandishing a weapon at people is a very good way to get injured, Bastien.

[Valdis showing him up is equivalent to him getting his family jewels stomped on. He still feels that sting to his pride. Pirate or no pirate, being shown up by a fair maiden is quite devastating.]

No kiddin'! [He points to his obvious black eye.] My vision is still blurry! I think I'm gonna lay low before some bloke does me in.

I would like to live well into old age, savvy?

Maybe piracy isn't the best line of work for you then. Not many of the ones I've known lived to old age.

Madam Ching did. [He interjected.] Yep, a woman pirate lord hailin' from the mainland. She's as sharp as a tact and quite mean. Even to this day she rules over the Pacific Ocean, the largest of the Seven Seas.

[Bastien seems to speak of her fondly but with respect. Madam Ching isn't someone you want to disgrace.]

She took me in when Mom went missin'.

[Though rumors of a Pirate Queen in the Pacific had reached her, Valdis had never spent much time in China or on the Pacific.]

Let me rephrase, not many men I've known in that line of work live to an old age.
