Turtles? I'm not entirely sold on what was described when I got here by the people at the Dreaming Bridge, although there are turtle gods back in Japan. Gen-bu, Oto-hime, Mino-game... so it's not unheard of.

But what I can't figure out is, where are all the shrines around here? You've got tons of different peoples all living in the same place, but no one thought to set up proper shrines??

[ And then he flashes the camera a grin, because he's got just the solution! ]

What you all need is a new god to take care of those prayers of yours that have probably been going unanswered!

So here I am: the Yato God at your service! 24/7 wish-granting, fast, reliable and affordable!

[He finally snapped his eyes shut, the hold on his camera phone shaking. He was gripped somewhere between fury and terror, and had to force himself to keep talking.]

Shut up-I don't need you fuckers to tell me that!! You gods ruined my sister's life and mine!!! She already couldn't walk and you just come and decide to force this fate on us? I may be a coward, but you gods are the real ones! All you fucking do is mess with humans lives and sit where you can be free of the consequences!!!

If-if-you go near any of my friends I'll f-fight you myself.

[ Now Yato's starting to look annoyed. ]

We're not a hive mind... what one god does has nothing to do with another. But even if humans don't understand things, everything a god does is righteous.

[ His eyes narrow a bit at the threat. ]

If you ask me to leave you alone, I will. But I don't think you want to try controlling who I can or can't meet.

[Leo was left speechless for almost a few seconds at the man-the god- that had the gall to say something like that to his face. How could he just fucking SAY THAT?]

Y-you-you have the GALL to just say something like that? You think killing and destroying people's lives is fucking RIGHTOUS? YOU'RE A MURDERER!!

[Yato may or may not have had time to respond, but Leo had already thrown his yimo hard, the little machine clattering against the ground and turning off from the force.

Almost immediately Leo regretted that action, rushing over to it and picking it up, franctically brushing the yimo off and pressing buttons to make sure it still worked. It did, and even if Leo was shaking hard, he felt a sigh of relief at that. He shot a text at Klaus and hugging his arms close to his chest, the tears spilling out of his cursed eyes, slowly making his way towards somewhere with no one around.]

[Though Valdis was having her own fun with this newcomer, it seemed not everyone was and she's paying enough attention to know when the fun needed to stop. Unlike Leo, Valdis put her yimo away gently. She didn't know his story, but the poor kid had seemed quite traumatized by his interaction with Yato. Anani was, of course, nowhere to be seen, probably off stealing fish from the market again, at least the cat was clever enough to travel all over the city and not choose the same place each time.

It would be so easy to just ignore Leo's pain, but unfortunately, she actually liked the kid. With a heavy sigh, she set out to hunt him down. Luckily, she knew where he lived and he hadn't gotten far from it when she found him.]

Leo?

[He was having the absolute opposite of fun right now, and looked up, startled when Valdis called out his name. He eyes were open only to slits, but the one advantage of them was they didn't get red and puffy with crying. Unfortunately that didn't stop the tears, or him stopping his plodding along so she could easily catch up to him.]

You...did you see any of that?

[Valdis sighed and moved to catch up.]

I see a lot of things Leo. [Though admittedly not as much as he did.] But it's not hard to see that you are upset right now, though I'm not quite sure why. The wound is quite deep, however, an old pain that just suddenly feels sharper. Is that right?

That fucking god-[Was all he managed to choke out before his throat closed up again. It was hard to breath like this; it was even harder to see. Leo's fingers fumbled with the yimo before it finally found its way into his pocket before they came up to clutch at the delicate skin around his eyes.]

He-he said everything they-everything they do is-it's rightous-but how could they?? How could they just laugh-and take my sister's eyes and say stuff like that- I just...I hate them!! I hate them, and I don't want these fucking eyes!!

[His nails dug in harder, tearing at his eyes almost like he wanted to claw them out, but his common sense was holding him back.] Why do they want us to suffer?

Leo...

[Valdis moved in front of him, gently taking his hands and holding them so he wouldn’t damage himself. The knowledge that his sister had been hurt by the same god who had cursed him with those eyes made her wonder if her brother’s anguish had been similar.]

I can’t understand exactly what you have suffered, but, like you, I have no love for gods. I promise I won’t let any god hurt you again. Between myself and Klaus, you have nothing to worry about.

He-he....I never wanted these cursed things, how could he say whatever they do is rightous like our lives don't even matter....

[He could feel a few dribbles of blood come down from where his nails had cut the skin, but Leo ignored them and the stinging and just suddenly reached out to hug Valdis like his sanity depended on it.]

My sister lost her eyes because of these!

[Valdis stiffened momentarily when Leo hugged her, fighting the urge to push him away. She felt his pain, and it helped her to relax, because she knew he needed it, that the companionship helped him. It was probably a good thing he was crying because he wouldn't be able to see the bewildered expression on her face.]

The actions of a god are no more righteous than the actions of a man. They simply possess more power to back their actions up.

[She didn't know how to handle this situation in a real manner, Valdis could fall back on an act, but Leo deserved more than that.]

I'm sorry, Leo.

[It might have been hard to pull away, since Leo was also clinging very determinedly to her and not paying any attention to much else. His sobs made his shoulders shake quite violently from holding in the noise, but he finally cleared his throat enough to talk.]

Why did they have to do it to us. I just-I just thought...for one moment I just thought I didn't want to be blind and that-that's why I froze up, isn't it? I cursed her to this because I was afraid and that fucker was just saying because a god did it that it was the right thing to do; it was GOOD. My sister is fucking suffering from a good doing the RIGHT THING.

[The harder Leo clung to her and the louder he cried, the more she wanted to flee. Valdis did not know how to deal with her own emotions, much less those of a clearly traumatized young man who had just run into a moody god.]

Fear is quite common among humans, I don't think you need to be ashamed of it.

[She paused, trying to find some way to comfort him.]

Your sister seems like a very strong person.

She's stronger than me, but I'm the older one! I'm supposed to be the one supporting HER!!

[His grip all but tightened, even if she could easily pry him off if she wanted to. Leo just didn't want to face anyone looking like this.]

My life is just a series of fucking mistakes over and over and she finally ended up suffering for it.

[Valdis tried to hide her discomfort with being emotional support for a sobbing individual.]

I'm sure your sister doesn't see it that way.

[After all, she didn't blame Michael for whatever had happened, not that she actually remembered what happened.]
