Turtles? I'm not entirely sold on what was described when I got here by the people at the Dreaming Bridge, although there are turtle gods back in Japan. Gen-bu, Oto-hime, Mino-game... so it's not unheard of.

But what I can't figure out is, where are all the shrines around here? You've got tons of different peoples all living in the same place, but no one thought to set up proper shrines??

What you all need is a new god to take care of those prayers of yours that have probably been going unanswered!

In my experience, at least, many of the Dreamfolk are from some version of Earth. Some of them are still quite alien, even so.
