April catch-all
Characters: Ursula Callistis ~and you~
Date: Throughout April!
Location: All over Aifaran.
Situation: Experimenting with a magical flying broom, trying out a Talent, and packing and cleaning a rich person's home!
Warnings/Rating: None, will update if so.
A: Let's Go Fly a... er... Broom?
[During the auction, Ursula was reunited with an old friend. It isn't the broom -- she lost that one -- but it's a broom. The one she used when flying about Luna Nova, when she kept an eye on students, and just did her best. She recognized it the moment she saw it. The notches on the broomstick, the slightly dyed red ends of the bristles.
She blew all of her money, or at least almost, to get it back.
But it's worth it for this moment. Normally so cool and composed, Ursula laughs as she goes flying through the air -- about ten feet over the street, but well within calling out distance -- and clutches to the broomstick. Her eyes are widened, delighted. She looks, well, younger.
And she laughs.] Ah--sorry, look out below! I'll try to make sure I don't hit anyone in the head!
B: Make It Grow
[As promised. Ursula went looking into her Talent. She didn't find the mark on her body for a couple of weeks. (It is, tragically, on her butt. She is very annoyed about this.)
Now, she sits in the park, legs curled up underneath her. Her robes flow out around her, their bell shape pooled up under her. She has her magic wand out, but the wand isn't aglow today. She's using it as a focus, more than anything. Ursula looks down, waiting and watching, eyebrows knitting...
And then results.
Lifrasir, a tiny little human-shaped person, grows out of the ground. Vines, leaves, and blades of grass knit together to form a vaguely androgynous form, which looks up at Ursula. Their eyes are shiny, like pools of reflective water, and they clasp their hands together. Flowers begin to bloom in the grass around them.]
Oh, my... how amazing!
C: Cleaning Up
[Having spent all of her money, like an adult, Ursula needs to earn some. Fortunately, there is a way to do that: spring cleaning.
The Bresilykians' house that needs to be cleared out is a huge one. There is a lot of rhinn on the line here, if anyone is willing to step up. Which, fortunately, Ursula is. She has shown up wearing T-shirt and long pants today, hair pulled back as usual. Her glasses are there, though. But she does have her magical wand out.]
I think... I might be able to make it easier to get the packed up boxes outside, with a little magic.

A?
Wha-?
[ He blinked. Why was she flying so low to the ground, anyway? With a start, Silver used his own ability to raise himself into the air and bolt after her. ]
Are you having trouble flying? It's safer if you went higher.
no subject
[She turns the broom, bringing it to a stop in front of Silver -- and then blinks once. She accepts this quickly. A talking hedgehog (she thinks, maybe). She has interacted with other magical beings.
She nods, and then keeps it floating -- with an impressed look as he hovers up to her height.]
I want to be sure I don't break my neck. Of course... it might pose a danger to the others. Maybe the risk to me is for the best.
no subject
Maybe there are some grassy areas around here that you could fly above. It hurts a lot less to land on grass as opposed to.. [ He looks down at the cobblestone sidewalks. He points down. ] ...That.
[ After a moment of consideration, he also adds: ] I could also try to catch you if you fall.
no subject
[She nods. Then, she blinks.]
Would you be willing to? I'm--well, I'd really appreciate that!
no subject
My name is Silver, by the way.
no subject
[She looks down at the broom. She's not going to chance riding it with one hand, right now.]
I'm Ursula Callistis. Where to?
no subject
There's some grass over that way. [ He pointed down the street; it was visible from where they.. er...floated. ] It's not big, but you should be able to do some flying with no difficulties.
no subject
[She does. Her hands keep a firm grip on the broomstick, to steer it -- and she takes off towards it. Her movements aren't sloppy or novice, but they are a little out of practice.]
It's been awhile since I've used this a lot--ah, or gone very fast. But, when I was younger, I won a race!

That's not her place.]
I think that's for the younger witches. I'd be happy to train someone, though.

What kind of magic is it? [After a brief second, he clarifies—] Does it take much energy? [The place is pretty big; they might have to pace themselves.]
no subject
It won't do all of the work by itself, but... think of it as a helping hand. I could make the heavy items float, to push them -- and I should be able to make the like objects all go into a box together. Glasses, for instance.
no subject
Big things first, or the delicate things?
no subject
[Ursula nods, as she looks around.]
We can secure those, and see what else we can fit. And then pack the delicate things separately, as needed.
no subject
Most of the furniture we can leave, according to this. [He pauses at a room.] Vases? [They're as tall as he is. ...Do they count as furniture?]
[He tilts his head.] It looks...fragile.
no subject
[Is that right?]
I'll need to be extra careful.
[She waves her hand... and the vases all begin to float up.]
no subject
Is it gravity you're manipulating?
no subject
[She nods.] It makes it easier to do that--I change how they interact with gravity, instead of, say, making them fly and float where I want them to be. That's a lot more work.
[Ever the teacher, this one.]
no subject
You can manipulate hu—people with it, too? [There's a reserved note in his voice, that might be trepidation.]

The ocean was wonderful too--it's not that she feared it, but after learning that they were all supposedly on top of a turtle, she had come to feel that maybe going into the ocean was trespassing into some sort of holy ground...so to speak.
She's heading back to her home in the Dreaming Bridge when she spots Ursula seated on the ground. She begins to cautiously approached her, it seems the witch is concentrating on something, when she sees the tiny creature spring forth from the ground. Her eyes widen in delight, and her steps quicken just a tiny bit.]
Hello, Ursula! Is that a friend of yours?
no subject
The witch bobs her head, nodding once.]
I believe so. You've heard of these "Talents" that we were given? Well...
[She motions down at Lifrasir.]
This is part of mine.
no subject
I have.
[Her eyes are equally curious and she gives it a small wave before turning her gaze back to Ursula]
Do they...help you? [It seemed like some sort of sprite at first glance.]
no subject
[Ursula smiles, and pats Lifrasir on their head.] ...Eventually, I think. I'm still learning how. This is all very new to me.
no subject
Is this your first time?
