01 ~ video
[The video shows Naesala casually lounging against the side of a stone building, in his usual dark outfit. It's a wide enough shot to show his wings resting against the wall behind him; he seems to be holding his yimo out at arm's length while he's recording.]
Well then. It's a festival dedicated to tying knots. Makes you wonder what form of the festivities happens in private, doesn't it?
Don't bother scolding me for saying it. I know that's been the question on everyone's mind.
At any rate, I met a most interesting group of people at one of the bars here. They invited me to a Erol'an poetry reading at a place near the docks. I don't know what to expect from it, but it ought to make for an interesting night.
[Naesala seems pretty satisfied with the turn of events, too. Look at him, making friends with hipsters.]
If only all my interactions with the locals were like that. Do yourselves a favor and don't walk close to the colleges if you have any extra appendages. You might not escape with all your feathers intact.

My name is Naesala. It's a pleasure, indeed.
video
[And while even she would admit she couldn't possibly know every name in existence, its uniqueness among those familiar to her was still worth noting.]

video
Then what is it?
Re: video
It's a laguz name. We're shapeshifters, to put it in simple terms.
video
I don't suppose you'd be willing to offer a demonstration? I've never meet a...shapeshifter before.
Unless you count one of those sneaky, two-faced lawyers.
video
Hey, you over there!
[The video's angle changes as Naesala turns to ask a castian pedestrian to hold his yimo for him. The view turns to the mouth of an alley, where Naesala has positioned himself out of the way of the bystanders on the street, a smirk on his face and his hands on his hips.]
Watch closely, or you might miss something.
[A few seconds later, a silver light that sends small motes into the air spreads over his body, transforming him, changing him into something feathery and large. Once it's over a moment later, it's not a small raven that stands in the alley, but one that easily stands near six feet tall. His black feathers are tipped in dark blue, and there's ornate silver symbols over the feathers on both his head and his chest, like odd tattoos.
The camera angle shakes as the castian gives an alarmed shout, making Naesala give a cawing laugh in response.]

What in the--?
[Eyes wide, she looked like she would either drop the communicator and make a run for it, or scream at...something. Anything. ]

...I see.
That is...quite the skill you have there, young man. I can say, with all the truth of one under oath, that I have never seen anything like it before.
And I've seen a lot.

[Despite being a large bird at the moment, his voice still sounds the same as it did in his humanoid form. Naesala takes a couple of small hops closer to the yimo, leaning in to look at it with a tilted head.]
There's plenty of humans on my world that never get to see a laguz transform. You should count yourself lucky.
video
Normally, I would hate to think of relying on mere luck to get me through my days...
[Here, however, she paused. Understanding that, while she might not fully comprehend what was going on around her...it was meant to be something of great significance. Perhaps not to her, but to the person--er, bird...bird-person(?) on the other end of the line.]
...but, nevertheless...I wish to humbly express my gratitude for what you have shown me.
video
Instead, he changes back to his humanoid form in another sweep of light. He's fighting to do it, but he does succeed in keeping his expression mostly neutral, giving the camera a little bow.]
Oh, you're quite welcome. I don't mind doing it for a polite audience.
[He then takes his yimo back from the castian, thanking him for not dropping the thing.]
video
A woman can only give the quality of manners she receives in return, young man.

video
"Boorish" is far from the first word that would come to mind at this time.
