( A mousy voice is heard through the network )
Hi.
( She clears her throat )
I'm Gwen Stacy. Just thought I'd reach out, see if... anyone has some answers? ( She sighs at the brooding tone of her message - who is this girl? She may be dead, but that doesn't mean she can't be, y'know, more lively. She straightens herself up, and even though this action can't be seen, it can certainly be heard: )
'Cause you better believe I've got questions.

[From his voice, it was obvious that the speaker was a child. No more than seven or eight at the oldest ]
[audio]
( Whoa, yeah, that's a young voice. Oh god, that just makes it harder for her to ask her first questions. )
The last thing I remember is dying. Is this where we go when we die? Are we... ( Her own words could choke her if she let them. ) are we even dead?
Re: [audio]
This is the city of Aifaran. You probably got pulled here like the rest of us did.
Are you injured?
[audio]
( She pauses to give herself a moment - one that lasts no more than two beats, yet feels like a solid ten minutes in her own head. )
I don't think so. The last thing I remember is... well, dying, to be honest. ( And honesty is kind of her thing. ) But I'm not in pain. Not physically, at least.

[ ooc: so sorry for the super late reply!! Parents came to visit me in Japan, so I was spending time with them ]
[audio] oops, took way too long to reply
Maybe you should go see a doctor, just to be sure. I haven't heard of that happening before. But just because you don't feel hurt might not mean that nothing's wrong.
[audio]
I don't have any answers for you. When I find some, though, I'll share 'em. That's the best I can do.
[audio]
Um, so who am I speaking with?
[audio]
Kit Gandir, [he introduces himself.] I'm, uh. Not from around here, either.
video;
[Because that's the type of question she's talking about, right?]
video;
( Her video turns on as well, and perhaps by accident
what even is this technology, and she's taken slightly aback. Excuse her red, puffy eyes, dear stranger. )I shall remember that for when I finally have an appetite. Thank you.
( She smirks, and it's a genuinely welcoming one. Not a full smile, but it's the best she could do for right now. )

audio;
( Her words are spoken through the smallest of smiles, which is a pretty big deal for someone who's feeling a little down in the dumps today. )
It's nice to meet you. Or your voice, at least. I feel like I have a ton of questions myself, but I hardly even know where to begin. You've been to this world before; does that mean people here come and go?
audio;
Yeah, they can. Not everyone does, but I know a handful of people that've left and come back here at least once. Sometimes they remember being here before, sometimes they don't. I'm kind of a weird case because I was here like, 500 years ago and in a totally different city on a completely different continent, so everything is new again.
Have you gotten to wander around the city yet?
audio;
[The voice on the other end, old but strong, sounded...exasperated would be a good word, although none of it seemed to be directed at Gwen, specifically. Pausing a moment to sigh, the woman waved a hand in the air she knew wouldn't be seen over audio as she continued on:]
I'm sure I can assume a few off the top of my head, to which I can, unfortunately, tell you: yes, this place is real...unbelievable as it seems...yes, the local police enforcement seem severely lacking when it comes to handling such mass kidnappings...and yes, somebody absolutely has been marking us.
I'm honestly not sure which of those offends me the most.
video;
[So helpful, Tony. What a jackass.]
Seriously, though, go for it. We can probably help you out. This city has seen a lot of Dreamfolk, and some of us have been here for a long time. I'd say we're getting pretty good at the newbie orientation.
