hello, network.
i am era ra.
there are others who can see this
that was a question. i do not yet know how to access the other punctuation symbols.

my occupation where i come from is that of an adventurer.
i have a variety of skills if anyone is in need of assistance. i am particularly talented in disciplines of combat, but am a skilled botanist, leatherworker, and goldsmith. i like to keep busy.

i was told that they are safe, but i am searching for some incredibly important possessions of mine that may have arrived without me. they are thirteen crystals of various colours and shapes that can fit within the palm of one's hand. each has a single symbol etched within it. all of them are unique.

i have nothing of value i can offer in return at the moment, but should any of you come across them i would be grateful if they were returned to me.

i hope you are all well. i look forward to meeting you.

More or less, yeah. We don't usually remember our time here when we go home. People have been working on changing that, but it's super tricky magic and the original caster has been dead for half a millennia.

[Imprisonment wasn't entirely inaccurate, if one chose to look at it that way. Pepper wonders if there's a way to change Era's mind - Konryu has it's challenges, but it's also a great place to be. It helps many Dreamfolk, gives them second chances.]

Nope, your alliance will still be there when you get back. This world and this city aren't too bad, though. It might grow on you, you never know. It's a second home for a lot of people.

Believe me, most of us are pretty unhappy about not keeping the memories. But it's not so much that it takes them. We just can't take them with us.

When people have gone home and come back, though, at least some of the time they regain their memories of being here before, if that's any consolation.

[Hm. Era's going to be a bit of a tough nut to crack on the second home thing. Fortunately, Pepper likes a challenge. Aggressive friending is a go.]

The Academy library and the Dreaming Museum are probably good places to do research. And it's okay if Aifaran isn't home - but maybe give it a chance? You might end up liking it here, as a place to visit. Call it a vacation.
lasergrenades: (What do you mean)

[Well, that's fair. Being in Aifaran is a lot to swallow and it's not all sunshine and butterflies.]

I get that. Seriously, I do. My job back home - and here, but especially at home - is keeping people safe. Superheroes don't get days off, you know?

But recharging and taking care of yourself is important too. It's hard to keep helping people when you've been burning the candle at both ends for a really long time.

[Even if the benefits of rest wouldn't go back with Era when she returned home. Bit of a bummer.]

[Everyone needs to recharge. Even machines need maintenance, and she's pretty sure Era isn't an actual machine.

Hopefully, maybe, Era will be able to get some rest here, and maybe realize it's okay - and even critical - to recharge sometimes. In order to keep going.]

If you say so.

The Academy library is pretty big but people here can help you around if you need it. Feel free to ping me if you want a study buddy ;)

[Pepper isn't really the scholarly type unless she's on a mission, but she does like meeting new people and getting to know them.]

Actually, the magic that lets us understand each other when we speak works for reading too, most of the time. Occasionally the Dreaming gets a little fiddly about it, but you won't have to learn new languages or need translations. Which is super convenient, let me tell you. Not knowing Kedanese when I was here before was *really* annoying; there's like 30 dialects or something anyway so that makes it even trickier.

Anyway! Yeah, it works on the same principles as you being able to read what I'm texting, which is English.
