[Trahearne is sitting in a chair, holding in his lap the splintered remains of a broken sword. It's not made of metal, but rather out of vines and wood, and though it's large it appears at one point to have been much bigger.]
This is what we recovered last month. This is Caladbolg, a thorn taken from the Pale Tree and given to her first champion before being passed on to me. This sword has been my companion for quite some time, before... before it was broken. Though Caladbolg is a living thing, its power has been greatly diminished. I believe the effects we saw when we recovered it was the result of the last spark of magic it had left.
[Then, Trahearne reaches forward and picks up a small object from just off-screen. What he shows to the camera is a piece of wood that matches Caladbolg exactly, but the patterns of growth on it are a much healthier shade of green.]
I found this on the roof. I have no explanation for how it got there, but this is a piece of Caladbolg. If enough pieces have found their way here, there's still some hope left of restoring the sword to its original state - reforging it, if you will. Caladbolg was powerful, once, but even if it can't be completely restored... I feel that I owe at least that much to an old friend.
If anyone finds more pieces like this, even if you're not sure if it's from Caladbolg, please bring them to me. This is more important to me than mere words can express.
(OOC: This kicks off the second part of the Caladbolg plot, open to everyone that signs up for it here!)
